This kitchen design injects life and plenty of personality into a group home build. The space emits classic elegance with accents of the client’s eclectic style throughout to create a bold statement which was important to them from the very beginning.
We went for a contrast of high gloss black and matte white throughout the kitchen and scullery adding brass accents for a high-end elegant feel. Keeping with the client’s eclectic style, turned legs were used on the island and treasures from her own collection were used such as crystal handles, rich brass coloured wallpaper in the scullery and a brass towel rail transformed into a door handle for the integrated fridge. We upcycled the clients existing door by extending the height and added a polished brass toe kick to continue the theme.
A seated booth flows on from the kitchen featuring panelled detail to the ends and reintroducing the high gloss black. The booth has been raised from the kitchen floor to highlight the area and angled seat fronts allow for more leg room.
The rangehood housing is the feature element of the space, designed to stand out and appear grand as if it was in an older home with a higher stud. Wall units on either side have been lowered in proportion and LED lighting accentuates this key focal point.
A clever combination of eclectic elegance paired with a high level of craftsmanship has resulted in a bold, stylish yet functional area that the homeowners absolutely adore.
