Experienced Joinery & Cabinetry Detailer

We are seeking a highly experienced joiner or cabinetmaker with programming / detailing and project management skills who will be responsible for the successful outcome of projects, including house lots of residential furniture, kitchens, wardrobes, and a large variety of commercial work.

You will have deep knowledge of joinery manufacturing, materials, appliances, and hardware. You will be a great communicator, problem solver and team player who can balance the needs of customers with sensible commercial decision making.

In this role you will be responsible for;  

  • Site measuring Detailing and CNC programming using the latest software, including Microvellum.  Experience in other CAD / CAM systems will be advantageous.
  • Purchasing materials and issuing work to subcontractors.
  • Designing workflow sequence, cut lists and parts management.
  • Liaising with designers, factory, installers, subcontractors, builders, and clients.
  • The successful outcome of projects that lead to completion, on time, within budget.

Competencies, Skills and Attributes required include; 

  • A positive attitude with problem solving abilities.
  • logical thinking and strong computer skills.
  • At least 5yrs joinery or cabinet making experience and qualifications. Ability to follow and improve procedures
  • Leadership qualities with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and take responsibility

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced designer to join our multi-award winning design team in our Blenheim studio. This role is best suited for a personable, self driven candidate with extensive kitchen/interior design experience who thrives in a high performing environment. The candidate will have a positive 'can-do' attitude which will be an important attribute as you liaise with clients and internal stakeholders.

Inwards Goods

Bays Joinery is a customer focused business, that designs & builds award winning joinery for residential & commercial clients. We service the Nelson and Blenheim regions from facilities in both locations.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a special person to join our awesome team and take responsibility for our inwards goods and stock management at our factory in Nelson. 

The Role
If you are an efficient, experienced operator with great organisational skills, attention to detail and have a passion for productivity and continuous improvement, then this will be a great opportunity to develop yourself and others in a fast paced, fun business with some of the latest technology and machinery. 

The main purpose of this role is to ensure the accurate receipting, storage, movement and accounting of inwards goods and appliances at the Bays Joinery Manufacturing Operation.  


Requirements

The successful applicant will have;

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in warehousing procedures (e.g. inwards goods, loading and unloading trucks, stocktaking etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Fluent and clear use of the English language
  • An ability to plan, prioritise and schedule work activities, inventory, manufacturing and distribution of goods
  • Customer service orientation: strives to provide a prompt, efficient and personalised service to customers; goes out of the way to ensure that individual internal and external customer needs are met
  • Competent in use of a range of PC applications e.g. Microsoft Office, WorkflowMax, email, some spreadsheets
  • Problem solving ability
  • Forklift License
  • A positive can-do attitude with problem solving abilities and a mechanical mindset
  • Self motivated, reliable, and very well organised
